Local Dementia Support Resources
Support for people living with dementia, and those who care for them, is something very close to my heart. I used to work in an elderly care home as a nursing assistant, and have seen first-hand how terrible this disease is, and how it can quickly take away so much from the person affected, as well as their families and friends.
This week is #DementiaAwarenessWeek. If you are supporting someone with dementia, there are lots of resources available.
If you would like to meet with others in a similar situation, there are dementia cafes, groups and choirs in South Ribble where you can talk to people with dementia, their carers, family and friends. This link has details of ones close to you
