NEW: Top-up to local business grant funds scheme

Announced 1 May 2020: If you were outside of the scope of the Covid19 Business Grant funds scheme (see below) then extra Local Authority funding announced recently  could be good news for you and your business. A discretionary fund has been set up to accommodate certain small businesses previously outside the scope of the business grant funds scheme.

Up to £617 million is being made available to local authorities in England.This is on top of the £12.33 billion funding previously announced for the Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF) and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund (RHLGF) – an additional 5% uplift), totalling up to £617 million in funding. Exact amounts for each local authority will be announced shortly.

COVID-19 business grant payments

All businesses with a rateable value of less than £15,000 and who are already in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief, Rural Rate Relief or tapered relief will also be eligible for a £10,000 Small Business Grant. Both schemes require businesses to have been registered for business rates on or before 11 March 2020.

In addition, businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors with a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000 will be eligible for a £25,000 grant under the Government's Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme to help mitigate the loss of trade or other impacts of the virus.

South Ribble Borough Council

SRBC have opened their online portal for business grant applications - www.southribble.gov.uk/coronavirus-information-business

Many businesses and self-employed workers face a period of uncertainty and possible loss of income as a result of the coronavirus. The Government has announced a package of financial and other measures to help manage these impacts - including wage subsidies, business rates reliefs, statutory sick pay reliefs, small business grants and loans.

To complete this form you will need your Business Rates Account billing number and bank details.

Apply for COVID-19 business grant payments

After you've applied

Government funding to the Council will be in place at the start of April. Completing this form means that we can pay the grant into your business account electronically as soon as possible.

West Lancashire District Council

Those falling under West Lancs, the Council will be contacting all businesses who are eligible via letter and/or email before the end of this week (Friday 3 April) with a verification form. 

If you think that your business is eligible for support but have not received anything from them by Friday 3 April, please contact their COVID 19 Business Grant Team via email businesssupport@westlancs.gov.uk with as much information about your business as possible. This must include your Property Reference Number and Business Rates Account Number.
